Goewey Jamaica Elopement | Kansas City Wedding Photographer | Jessika Christine Photography

Have you ever seen a Hindu wedding ceremony? They’re very colorful and full of beautiful rituals!

Ruchi and Evan had a traditional Hindu ceremony in Jamaica. It was a beautiful ceremony in an over water bungalow. The Hindu ceremony started at 10am and lasted almost two hours. There are so many interesting rituals involved and I loved watching all of them. Ruchi’s skirt alone weighed 40 pounds! It was very hot and humid, so we did wedding party photos and video as quickly as possible.

Later that day they changed into the traditional white dress and suit for bride/groom portraits on the beach. It started pouring rain, which only made it more beautiful. Ruchi and Evan have always been up for anything so I knew rain wouldn’t stop them. Their reception was in a ballroom with some family who could fly out to Jamaica. They had a mix of Indian food and BBQ! To end the evening they had a sparkler exit and headed back to their amazing honeymoon suite.

I am extremely lucky that they chose me to go on this wonderful adventure with them! Seeing a different culture was such an experience. There were beautiful things and horrible things. We went on an all day excursion Friday and had a blast. ATVs, Zip lining and a Jeep Safari all in one day. We got wet, dirty and a little sunburned, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. The people in Jamaica are all so welcoming and they really do say “Yeah man” ALL THE TIME!

I hope to go on an adventure like that again and head home best friends with all of my clients!

Jamaica and the resort were so gorgeous I had to take a few photos! Here are a few non wedding photos.
