Elopement? What does that mean? I don’t want to run off and have a secret, quick ceremony.
GUESS WHAT?!
That isn’t what eloping means anymore!
The definition of eloping is changing and I’m so excited for all my couples who are getting married during this time. You have an endless amount of options to choose an intentional wedding day that is inspired by YOUR LOVE, not someone else’s definition of “tradition.”
There are also different ways to elope. For example, an adventure elopement is when you and your partner spend the day in the outdoors, hiking, adventuring and doing what makes your hearts happy. You can say your vows at the top of a mountain, in the California desert or at Cannon Beach in Oregon. The possibilities are endless!
You can also elope with your close family and friends. An elopement doesn’t mean it has to be just the two of you. An intimate wedding may be more your style. There are plenty of beautiful locations that don’t require hiking, so you can invite your grandparents to witness you saying I do!
Maybe you love the idea of spending the entire day together, but want to celebrate your marriage with your family and friends later. GREAT! DO THAT! You can have your adventure elopement, but then come home and have a reception to celebrate with everyone you love.
That’s the beauty of an elopement. There is no right or wrong way to do it. You can create an intimate wedding day that reflects the two of you!
