Yosemite has my heart

This month I visited Yosmeite CA and had an amazing time! I met up with 3 other KC photogs, Itzel Sanchez Photography, Ashley Drewianka Photography & Wonderwood Photography. We stayed in a cute cabin outside the park. We hiked, we shot, we climbed, we laughed, and we ATE SMORES. We enjoyed the park everyday from morning to night. The first day we hiked to Taft Point and it was AMAZING. I think it’s better than Glacier Point, because you have to actually hike there and it isn’t surrounded by a wall. At first we all looked down at the ground and got nervous getting close to the edge, but we got over it quickly. Itzel got over it right away and went out to the edge for photos lol. I got a little elevation sickness and had a hard time breathing, but it was worth it!

We hiked Taft Point, Bridal Veil Falls, and Sentinel Dome during our stay and Taft Point was my absolute favorite! Unfortunately most of the falls were dry this time of year, but we did get to see some water in Bridal Veil Falls and we climbed up the rocks pretty high.

We took so many photos of each other, which was the best. We all brought dresses and skirts for everyone to wear. I did an epic double exposure with Itzel in my blue dress and a smokey sky(scroll down to see it!) Traveling with other photographers is so rewarding, because we all get it when it comes to photos. We all stop at every leaf or tree that looks picture perfect haha. Also when your friends will get naked and in the freezing water for photos, you know they’re keepers. We also had the opportunity to photograph two wonderful couples! I’ll made a separate blog post with those photos, because there are ALOT!

The last day we hiked Sentinel Dome at 5am to watch the sunrise. I’m not a morning person but I’m so glad I did it. It’s such an amazing experience to watch the earth wake up. After we hiked back down I was exhausted so I laid in the fields and watched people climb El Cap. It was so relaxing and the sun felt amazing.

I can’t wait to go back to Yosemite and explore new places. I’d love to actually camp there next time though. If you have any trail recommendations please leave them in a comment below!

Hope you enjoy some of my travel photos!
